Logo and visual identity

for: BIOCEV

BIOCEV is a cutting-edge scientific platform for the development of modern biotechnology and biomedicine. It is a joint project of six institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences and currently employs nearly 450 scientists and technicians from all over the world.

Our task was to design a logo and visual style to accentuate the unique collaboration of 6 academic institutions and the international importance of the BIOCEV Centre.

Six institutes,
one university

Each institution represents one building block-cube in the whole logo. The circumference of the cube is also a hexagon, evoking the shape of the benzene core diagram, which is one of the cornerstones of chemistry and biochemistry. The identity includes a colour code that allows individual workplaces to be distinguished and to communicate as a whole.
