Giant laser interactive model

for: ELI Beamlines

ELI Beamlines is a scientific research centre focused on laser technology. It focuses on popularization and educational activities. Fundamental to education is the presentation of laser technology on models that faithfully replicate the work in experimental halls.

Our task was to create a giant interactive 3D model with a size of 2 x 1m, in a precise scale of 1:50. The model represents the activity of all 10 lasers located in the 50m high halls of the ELI Beamlines centre. The individual sections can be switched on and off using a mobile app.

Our work consisted of preparing a detailed design, arranging and supervising 3D printing and assembling the final model. It is important for us that our model works in explaining scientific experiments and deepens the interest of the young generation in science and research.

The laser beams on the model can be controlled using a mobile app.
